To remove cat urine from wood floors clean the floor with warm water and white vinegar which will help neutralize the bad odors. Remove the quarter rounds and baseboards then run the sander on the flooring. Urine stains often leave a dark even black stain on wood floors. Wipe a gloved hand across the surface of the carpet fibers and push the liquid down into the carpet pad.

Use a drum sander or disc sander for wood floors with gaps or seams to remove the cat urine smell. When caught and cleaned immediately there is minimal damage to your floors but often with pets you can t always find the accident when it happens. If the stains and odor are not sufficiently removed cover the stain with a paper towel or soft wipe saturated with peroxide. As long as you have solid hardwood floors you can deeply sand them with a drum sander and a disc sander.

To remove the pet urine stains i poured hydrogen peroxide directly on the stain covered it with a hydrogen peroxide soaked rag and then covered that with plastic wrap and let everything sit overnight. I had cardboard under a litter box on a wood floor and one of my cats peed on the cardboard which soaked through to the wood and kept the floor wet. You can also make a cleaning solution by mixing hydrogen peroxide liquid dish soap and baking. If your wood floor has gapped seams or a poor finish that allows liquids to soak in you may have to sand away the cat urine.

Urine stains can be removed from some hardwood floors without damaging the finish. Let it sit for ten minutes and then towel up. In the morning the black stains and odor were gone and i was able to sand and refinish my floors. Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water together in a bowl and pour it on the carpet where the cat urinated to begin removing the strong odor of cat urine.

Leave each towel on each blemished. First scrub the spots with a peroxide soaked cloth and let them dry. The urine and its odor will have already sunk into the seams or the porous surface.
